[Dec. 2017] For the fourth year in a row, Papa Felipe’s has earned a Best of the City award. This year, our luscious avocado dip took the honor — Best Guacamole in Albuquerque – Top Five.
Of course, we make our guacamole, fresh, in-house, using real avocados. Creamy avocados gently mixed with tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, lemon juice, salt and a hint of garlic. For our Guacamole Salad, the guacamole is served atop crisp iceberg lettuce and topped with more diced tomatoes and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese with warm tostadas (tortilla chips).
Our guacamole accompanies many of your favorite dishes, like our fajitas and chimichangas. Plus, for a real treat just order the Guacamole Salad — available as an appetizer on our lunch and dinner menus.

Papa Felipe’s Mexican Restaurant was one of the Albuquerque restaurants featured on the Cooking Channel show, Cheap Eats.
On each Cheap Eats episode, host Ali Khan finds the best deals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus a snack, in the featured city – all for under $35. At Papa Felipe’s, Khan selected one of our customer favorites, our carne adovada, stuffed into a sopaipilla.
In 500 Things to Eat Before It’s Too Late, road-food hunters Jane and Michael Stern document some of the best eats they found on their travels across the United States. In New Mexico, they highlighted Papa Felipe’s unique green carne adovada.
Albuquerque, can you handle the heat? If so then we have got two words for you: chips and salsa. They are a part of almost any New Mexican meal. We gobble them down, almost taking them for granted. But, you know that feeling when the tortilla chips are hot and fresh, and the salsa has just the right balance of heat and flavor? Yeah! It’s good! And, according to YOU, Papa Felipe’s has some of the best chips and salsa in Albuquerque!
Albuquerque voters choose our chips and salsa as one of their Top Five favorites in the 2018 Best of the City Awards, and they are just as fresh and tasty today! Our crispy chips can stand alone, but paired with our salsa, this time-honored New Mexican snack shines. This classic combo is great for enjoying during parties or watching the big game.
